A few examples of why we donate our time

To our fair visitors' survey question "What do you like best about the fair?" 55% said "community spirit", community feeling", "brings our community together."

"I had five kids with me and only five dollars in my pocket. I gave each of them a dollar and told them to do the best they could. The vendors were wonderful; they saw to it that each one could have something to eat and something to buy. They came home with a bagful of treats. And the free kids (games & crafts) pavilion was wonderful!" -Grandmother of five

"We just moved here from Alabama. My husband is in the army. This (street fair) is amazing. It has been a wonderful way to meet people and make us feel like we belong here." -Young military wife

"I sold more during the first day of the fair than I had all the rest of the year." -New Spanaway business owner

"I'm here visiting family. What a wonderful surprise to run into childhood friends (at the fair) that I lost touch with and haven't seen in 25 years." -Visitor from Arizona

" I didn't sell that much during the fair, but people took my business card, and I have a lot of business from them calling and coming in to order things, now that the holidays are coming."
- Gift shop vendor

"I've lived here for years, and today (at the fair) I met my neighbors for the first time." -Spanaway resident
